Sue Natrass announced that she is to leave Business Link to join NVB. Sue Crosby will take over Sue’s role on the Retford Business Club. Everyone on the committee expressed their thanks for the tremendous support received from Sue during her time on the committee. We will definitely miss Sue but look forward to working with Sue Crosby.
It was decided to invite Russell Slater, the new Town Centre Manager to take part in the committee. We are still experiencing problems getting someone from the retail sector to join the committee and it was felt that Russell might be able to assist.
The committee agreed that the 7.15am for 7.30am start worked very well with a break in between for breakfast. Overall the meeting was well attended and we received good, positive feedback.
Discussion took place in respect of inviting the Job Centre to attend as a speaker in the November meeting. James Pinchbeck will chair the September meeting, which will have a rural theme.
The Retford Times will also be invited to attend the next meeting. James Pinchbeck to chase.
No editorial in respect of the previous meeting had been released.
James Pinchbeck to chase Keith Gowling in respect of the Bank Mandate.
We agreed that we need a representative from the Robin Hood Airport to attend the meeting in order to provide an update and information in respect of the airport.
In respect of the web site, it was agreed that we needed a ‘Privacy Page’. Peter Swallow to sort out. Peter is to discuss with James Pinchbeck payment for the web site.
Siobhan to arrange for Retford Business Club business cards to be printed and costs.
The Retford Business Club party for the 3rd September is going well with prizes being donated from the Retford Flying Club, free flying lessons, a health hamper from Thorsby Hall Hotel. Coleen has liaised with the Bassetlaw Hospice and arranged for games, tombola and bunting. There will be stalls available. James Helliwell to have a word with the Retford Farmers Market to see if they would like to attend.
Coleen to have a meeting with committee members prior to 3rd September to make further arrangements for the Party. Coleen will e-mail everyone with some suitable dates.
