Minutes of Previous Meeting
Due to length of the previous minutes, it was decided to raise any matters outstanding. There were none so we moved to comments regarding the meeting at the Town Hall on 14th January 2005.
Meeting 14th January 2005
Sue Natrass was in receipt of six feedback forms from the above said meeting. All six said that the event has met their expectations. One stated that he/she was disappointed that the breakfast was cold. In respect of other topics that visitors would like to hear more about was the Robin Hood Airport and the effect that it would have on businesses in the area. Other recommendations included having a microphone in the larger room.
Roger raised the issue of inviting someone again to speak on behalf of the Robin Hood Airport with specific dialogue in respect of recruitment issues, population movement and the dynamics of how recruitment is to be achieved. Sue Natrass will speak to Michelle from the council to ascertain if someone from the airport could attend at the July meeting.
Reference was made to James’ suggestions for meetings. Discussion took place regarding starting the next meeting at 7.30 as opposed to 7.00am. Due to the small number of committee members, we were unable to take a vote on this issue and therefore will make the appropriate recommendations at the next committee meeting.
In respect of breakfast, discussion took place in respect of having a different selection of sandwiches delivered five to ten minutes after the meeting starts and perhaps raising the fee from £2.50 to £3.00 to cover the costs. Committee members could cover any shortfall of monies. Again this issue will be raised again at the next committee meeting.
James confirmed that the Post Office would be in attendance at the next meeting and possibly the Highways Agency.
New Leisure/Tourism Officer
Due to the sad departure of Pam Barnsdale, we will need to have a new leisure and tourism officer on the committee.
Retail Officer
Coleen has spoken to Mike at Greenwoods, he was unable to attend the last meeting due to bereavement. Coleen to chase.
Appoint Press Officer – Suggestion
Roger kindly volunteered to undertake this role should this be voted upon and agreed.
Progress with Forming the Club
This is still work in progress. James Pinchbeck is unable to open a Bank Account until the structure is finalised.
Website Progress
This should be near completion by next week. Coleen to furnish James with the database of those who have expressed an interest in the Retford Business Club. Sue Natrass will continue to promote the club through Business Link.
Suggestions from James Pinchbeck
This should be read in conjunction with comments on the previous meeting.

There was some concern expressed by the owner of the Bay Tree in respect of numbers attending this meeting. She said that more numbers needed to attend in order to make it viable for her to run. Discussion took place in respect of alternative venues to hold future committee meetings. This issue will be raised at the next meeting.
