Minutes of Previous Meeting
Siobhan acknowledged that there appeared to be some confusion in respect of the last meeting concerning Coleen’s position as Secretary. What was discussed and agreed was that due to the busy schedule of all concerned, it would be appropriate for both Coleen and Siobhan to have someone to act as a substitute in their absence. This was for a period of absence only and on a temporary basis. The issue of Pam Hardy taking over the role as Secretary on a permanent basis was not discussed or agreed. However, in light of the above, James Helliwell is to act in Siobhan’s absence (seconded by Coleen) and Pam Hardy is to act as substitute in the absence of Coleen (seconded by Pam Barnsdale)
The minutes of the previous meeting (Friday 12th November 2004) are now accordingly amended in respect of the above issue.
Committee Structure
It was agreed that Gary Throw is to e-mail the Aims and objectives to all committee members. Discussion took place in respect of finances and the banking arrangements for the club. James Pinchbeck is to deal with this matter.
It was agreed that five members would form the quorum in respect of any voting issues.
We have an interested party from the Retail sector; a representative from Greenwoods will be attending the meeting on 14th January 2005.
Web – site/Logo
There was discussion in respect of funding and sponsorship of the Retford Business Club Web-site. Streets have offered to sponsor the site. Pam Barnsdale to look at grants from the Local Area Forum.
The web site is now registered as dot.com.
Peter and James have worked very hard in respect of the logo for the Business club and the rest of the committee were shown a presentation of suitable logos. Logo number 5 was chosen as the most suitable.
In order for the web site to be more effective, we would require links into other local web sites. Sue Natrass explained that there would be a link from Business Link’s web site to the Retford Business Club.
The web site is not yet complete and the committee need to agree how the web site is formulated, what information is required on the web site etc. It was agreed that all committee members were to e-mail their thoughts and comments in respect of the site to James. A select committee (James Pinchbeck, Peter, Coleen & Siobhan) would look at all the comments and will hold a meeting after the Christmas break to finalise the web-site content/structure.
Thanks were given to both Peter and James for their hard work.
Registration of Club
Gary Throw is still working on the registration of the club and is to work with James to organise the finer details.
