"BRINGS GOOD NEWS” GOOD NEWS for local businesses - the RETFORD BUSINESS CLUB – demonstrated in the May meeting the forum is working. Delegates from a broad selection of local business and support groups enjoyed a vibrant meeting, with guest Speakers: Mike Quigley (Leader of BDC) and Roger Ramson (Head of Economic Development –BDC) Who presented an outline of their roles, beliefs for the local business community and the future support to the local community. Also examples of the need for the community to work together, such us raising the aspirations of our children by removing the handcuffs on local low paid employment, through the influx of Large Businesses and their offers of low skilled job opportunities. A lively Q & A session covered a good spread of topics with the focus mainly on the concern of the explosion in the people population of Ret ford and District, with its increase in disruption to traffic control and flow in some cases constraining trade in the town centre. After the meeting delegates had the opportunity to button-hole the speakers, and enjoyed speaking to other members.
